The quality reporting system is designed to provide you with helpful information about Texas Long Term Care Services. It can help you compare different providers of the same type of service. It can also give you specific information about a particular provider.
When QRS shows comparisons for different provider types, it does so by grouping and comparing only providers of similar services. So, community nursing homes are compared to other community nursing homes, hospital-based nursing homes are compared to other hospital-based nursing homes, and so on.
Note that while ratings and scores make it possible to compare providers of the same type of service, they do not allow valid comparisons between providers of different types of services. Thus, it is not valid to compare a nursing facility to a facility for persons with Intellectual disability on the basis of a rating or score.
For some types of services, QRS offers ratings that can help you to make quick comparisons. These ratings are the result of collaboration between provider organizations and consumer advocates. These ratings do not necessarily reflect the Deparment of Human Services' own appraisal of the quality of a particular providers' services. The Department believes that a provider's consistent, long-term compliance with the State and Federal regulations is a more reliable yardstick of provider performance. Carefully reviewing the compliance history in a provider's quality profile gives a better picture of the Department's judgment concerning a provider's performance.

Caution: This web site does not reflect recommendations of any specific provider by DADS.
It is simply a tool that you can use to help you make a selection. Because QRS shows information from a limited time period
and is updated only once each month, it may not include some important events that are either older or more recent.
QRS rating systems are developed in collaboration with long term care providers and consumer advocates and may include some
self-declared and unverified information.
DADS strongly encourages you to visit with providers that you consider and talk with people who receive services from them. To obtain the most recent information about a provider, contact DADS Consumer Information Hotline at 1-800-458-9858. For general inquiries, send an email to LTCSearch@hhsc.state.tx.us.
